Trace the Beas to its Hidden Source: The Beas Kund Experience
This trek takes you straight to the birthplace of one of North India’s most iconic rivers — the Beas. But getting there is half the magic. You walk through meadows framed by giant peaks, follow glacial rivers that snake through alpine valleys, and camp under skies thick with stars. At the end of the trail lies Beas Kund — a serene, high-altitude lake cradled by snow and myth. The landscape here is timeless: icy ridges, towering summits like Hanuman Tibba, and the silence of the high Himalayas. Whether you’re a first-time trekker or just craving a short escape into the wild, Beas Kund packs a punch in a small window. It’s a classic Himalayan experience, stripped down to its purest form.

Day : 1
Drive from Manali to Dhundi (9,400 ft) & Trek to Palchhani Thatch (10,500 ft)
Drive: 1.5 hours | Trek: 3 hours, ~5 km
We start with a scenic drive up Solang Valley, past waterfalls and pine forests, till we reach Dhundi. From there, the trail follows the thundering Beas River, gently climbing through open meadows to the first campsite at Palchhani Thatch — a quiet patch of green beneath towering granite walls.
Day : 1
Day : 2
Palchhani Thatch to Lohali (11,800 ft)
Trek: 4 hours, ~4 km
The trail narrows as we gain altitude, leaving behind the last trees. We hike past boulder fields, streams, and occasional snow bridges depending on the season. Lohali is a raw, windswept campsite with stunning views of Hanuman Tibba and Shitidhar — a perfect base before heading to the kund.
Day : 2
Day : 3
Trek Back to Barshaini & Drive to Kasol
Trek: 6–7 hours, ~10 km (round trip)
An early start takes us on a rocky, high-altitude trail toward Beas Kund. The final stretch feels like stepping into another realm — barren, glacial, and completely still. The lake itself is small and sacred, surrounded by snow and silence. After spending time by its edge, we retrace our steps back to Lohali for one last night under the stars.
Day : 3
Day : 3
Lohali to Dhundi & Drive to Manali
Trek: 3 hours, ~5 km | Drive: 1.5 hours
We descend through the same lush valley that welcomed us on Day 1. The peaks now look familiar, the river a little more personal. Once at Dhundi, a short drive brings us back to Manali — tired legs, full hearts, and phones full of photos. Note: Add a buffer day for weather delays or to explore Manali post-trek!
Day : 3
